What if the information contained in My Public Report is wrong?
Unfortunately PublicInfoGuide.com has no control over the information it retrieves and displays
as part of the My Public Report product. Our role is limited to reaching out and retrieving whatever
information or criminal background check data is available out there for you.
In most cases, the information we display is collected from commercial data brokers that harvest
it from a variety of different city, county, state, and federal resources. The original source is
not generally available so we are not necessarily able to direct you back to the original source.
Since this is "public information" collected by various agencies and government offices it is not
always possible for you to update or delete information that is not correct even if the source is
known.
Wherever possible we will attempt to direct you to the original source and provide you with
information on how you might be able to modify or delete your information.

Can I use a background check report for pre-employment background screening?
As stated in our Terms & Conditions, criminal background reports provided by PublicInfoGuide.com
are not FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) compliant. Our reports are not positioned as stand-alone,
pre-employment background checks. While you are free to use our background check reports for general
pre-employment background screening, in the event that further action needs to be taken, you must be
sure to take appropriate measures to abide by FCRA restrictions.
